These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Advance Vision Securitywebsite and any quotation, installation, supply, commissioning or maintenance services we provide. By using our website or engaging us to carry out work, you accept these Terms.
1. About us
Advance Vision Security is a security and low-voltage systems installer based in the Shropshire & West Midlands. You can contact us on 07380 372802 or at info@advancevisionsecurity.co.uk.
2. Quotations and contract formation
Written quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. A binding contract is formed when you accept a quotation in writing (including by email) and we acknowledge that acceptance. Verbal estimates given on site are indicative only.
3. Surveys and design
Where we carry out a free site survey, the resulting design and equipment schedule remain our intellectual property until paid for in full. Surveys are based on conditions reasonably visible at the time of visit; concealed building defects, asbestos, hidden cabling routes or non-standard fixings may incur additional cost which we will agree with you before proceeding.
4. Equipment and substitutions
We reserve the right to substitute specified equipment with a model of equivalent or greater specification where stock, supplier changes or product end-of-life make this necessary. Substitutions will not materially reduce the performance described in the quotation.
5. Pricing, payment and title
- All prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
- For projects up to £2,000, payment is due in full on completion.
- For projects over £2,000, a 50% deposit is payable on order, with the balance due on practical completion.
- Maintenance contracts and monitoring fees are invoiced annually in advance.
- Risk in supplied equipment passes to you on delivery to site; legal title remains with us until all sums due have cleared.
- Late payment may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. Warranty
Installation workmanship is warranted for 12 months from the date of commissioning. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we will assist you to claim. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, tampering, power surges, lightning, vermin, third-party modifications or failure to follow user instructions.
7. Maintenance and monitoring
Where a maintenance or monitoring agreement is in place, the service levels, response times and exclusions set out in that agreement apply in addition to these Terms. Either party may terminate a maintenance agreement on 60 days' written notice prior to renewal.
8. CCTV, data protection and your responsibilities
Where we install CCTV or access control on your premises, you (the client) are the data controller in respect of personal data captured by those systems. You are responsible for registering with the Information Commissioner's Office where required, displaying appropriate signage, and complying with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ICO's CCTV code of practice. We can advise on compliant configuration but the legal responsibility rests with you.
9. Access, services and site conditions
You must provide safe, unobstructed access to the work area, a suitable mains supply, and any permissions required from landlords, freeholders or neighbours. Delays caused by site conditions outside our control may be chargeable.
10. Cancellation
Consumers contracting at a distance or off-premises have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unless the work has been completed (or fully started with your express consent) within that period. Business customers may cancel only by written agreement; reasonable costs already incurred are payable.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with a contract is limited to the price paid for the works giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business opportunity or losses arising from acts of third parties (including offenders, criminals, monitoring centres or telecommunications providers).
12. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events outside reasonable control, including utility failures, severe weather, civil disorder, supplier delays, pandemics and government action.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, save that we may bring proceedings in any jurisdiction where you are established.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the date your contract was formed will govern that contract.
